Jean Ellen Stein

Jean “Jeanie” Ellen Stein, 84, of Fresno passed away Saturday, February 26, 2022 at the Coshocton Regional Medical Center.  She was born in Coshocton, Ohio on June 1, 1937 to the late Herbert Thomas and Menema Esther (Deeds) Hamilton.

She was a member of Renners Church, where she was the president of the ladies guild. She worked as a medical assistant for 22 years, a Janitor, cook, and Bus driver for Ridgewood Local School District for 27 years. Jeanie also enjoyed reading, sewing, gardening, mowing, sporting events, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a fan of the Cleveland Indians and Ohio State.

Jeanie is survived by her children Steven (Heather) Stein of Mt. Vernon; Daniel (Deborah) Stein of Cambridge, Rodney (Stacie) Stein of Coshocton, and Holly (Bradley) Bookless of Columbus; grandchildren Tyler Stein, Brenna Bookless, Allison Stein, Conrad Stein, Brady Bookless, Andrew Stein, Ayden Stein, Olivia Stein, and Carson Stein; sisters-in-laws Mary Baab and Lorretta (David) Mast; brother-in-law Larry (Lynn) Stein; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Carl Stein, who passed away September 3, 2020; sisters Oleen Hamilton, Janet (Guy) Lowery, and Doyce (Gene) Barr; father-in-law Ervin Stein; mother-in-law Helen Stein; and brother-in-law Wayne Baab.

Friends may call at the Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main Street, Coshocton, Ohio 43812 on Thursday, March 3, 2022 from 4:00pm – 7:00pm and one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.  Funeral services will be held at Renner’s United Church of Christ, 7620 Renner Rd SW, Fresno, OH 43824 on Friday at 11:00am with Pastor Dan Eggan officiating.  Burial will follow at Renners United Church of Christ Cemetery, Fresno.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be directed towards Renners United Church of Christ.
