Barbara A. Foster, of Coshocton, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at her residence in Avon Park, FL. Bobbie, as she was fondly referred to, was born in Keene, OH on April 14, 1937 to the late Leland B. and Lillie D. (Shirer) Arnold.
She moved to Dresden, OH when she was 8 years old and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1955. While working for General Electric in Coshocton, she met Jack Foster who she married December 28, 1960. Their marriage lasted over 50 years ending with his death in 2011. After Jack’s retirement they spent winter months in Florida.
Bobbie was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Coshocton and attended church with her friends in Florida. She enjoyed playing bridge in several groups in both states. Bobbie loved flowers and was an avid floral gardener. Above all, she delighted in entertaining family and friends where her hospitality was well known and appreciated.
Bobbie is survived by her children Diana Kay (Richard) Grogg of Lancaster, OH, Barbara Lynn (Ed) Beer of Huron, OH and Bradley Jay Foster of Dallas, TX; grandchildren Todd Grogg, Amber (Jim) DeWeese, Teresa and Joanna Beer; great grandchildren Alaina Maxine and Ava James DeWeese, Ashley Muench; sister-in-law Marilyn Arnold; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Jack Foster; siblings Helen Edwards, Jack Arnold, Marty Wright, and Lester Arnold.
Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Sunday January 17, 2016 from 2:00PM – 4:00PM and one hour prior to the funeral service.
A funeral service will be held for Bobbie on Monday at 11:00AM with Pastor Keith Peachy officiating.
A private burial will take place in South Lawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be directed to the American Diabetes Foundation, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
