Betty Lou Chaney

Betty Lou Chaney, 68, of Coshocton passed away peacefully on October 29, 2022, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born on October 7, 1954 in Athens County to the late, Paul and June (Pratt) Erwin. A very talented licensed barber, her skilled haircuts and inviting personality, helped her develop an appreciative clientele. A passion for adventure in which she shared with many, especially her children, grandchildren and all who held a special place in her heart. She fondly remembered the relationships she developed while driving for the Amish community. She had an appreciation for all art and found great peace in her flower garden. Her strength and resilience will live on through all who journeyed with her.

On October 14, 1995, she married Richard Chaney, who survives, also surviving is her son, Michael (Kim) Sanders of Adamsville and daughter, Jody Sanders of Athens. She had a special relationship with her step-son, Ryan (Heather) Chaney of Coshocton; grandchildren, Zachary and Cody Gilbraith of Millfield, Kaylin and Sophia Sanders of Adamsville and Leiland Chaney of Coshocton; sisters, Sandy (Ross) Corder of Athens and Paula (Virgil) Thompson of Albany.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, James Erwin.

Per her request, there will be no services at this time. She wished to be remembered as a hardworking mother, grandmother and friend.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her honor to the Coshocton Animal Shelter at 21755 TR 164, Coshocton, Ohio 43812 or Genesis Hospice at 713 Forest Ave. Zanesville, Ohio 43701.
