Carol Ann (Brenly) Griffith, age 87, of Coshocton, Ohio passed away peacefully at her home on March 29, 2025. She was born on July 2, 1937 to the late Earl and Mary Brenly.
Carol was also known to her family and many childhood friends as “Ann”. She was born, raised, and remained a resident of Coshocton her entire life.
Carol graduated from Coshocton High School in 1955, where she met the love of her life, Charles Griffith. The two of them were married on September 23, 1956.
Carol worked right out of high school in the office at Edmont Manufacturing for several years before leaving to stay at home and raise her children. In 1979, she went back to work for the Coshocton City Schools as a cook where she was known to many as “mom”. Carol continued working as a cook until retiring in 2005 from Lincoln Elementary.
Carol was an avid reader who had to keep a journal to record all of her books. She loved playing the piano and playing hausey with her two card clubs she was apart of. She enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren in their many sporting events over the years and could be found on Saturday's watching the Ohio State Buckeyes playing football and basketball. After retiring, she loved meeting the ladies she formally worked with for breakfast every Wednesday morning. Carol was also a member of the Red Hats, a Pink Lady at the Coshocton County Hospital, and a fifty+ year member of the Grace United Methodist Church.
Carol is survived by her four children, Kenneth (Jodi) Griffith of Byesville; William “Bill” (Karin) Griffith of Anchorage, Alaska; Sara (Kelly) Hartsock of Warsaw; and Kathy (Mark) McCoy of Coshocton; Grandchildren, Robert (Tory) Griffith, Mackenzie (Caleb) Fehrman, Emily (Casey) McCoy, Holly McCoy, Dalton McCoy, Jessica Hartsock, and Kelsey Hartsock; step grandchildren Jordan (Arlee) Foster, Tristan Johnson, and Korandin Johnson; Great Grandchildren, Mazie McCoy, Izzy McCoy, Owen Fehrman, and Callie Fehrman; step great grandchildren Kailey Johnson and Kieran Ettinger; three sisters, Peggy Sechler, Sally (Jerry) Foster, Doris Brenly; and brother, Bob (Joan) Brenly.
Carol is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Griffith, her parents, a grandson, Jeremy Griffith, and her sister, Janis Reeb.
Calling hours will be held at the Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main Street, Coshocton, OH 43812 on Thursday, April 3, 2025 from 10:00am – 11:00am with funeral services beginning at 11:00am with Caleb Fehrman. Burial will follow at Coshocton County Memory Gardens.
