Life Legacy
Charles K. Dawson Sr., 65, of Coshocton passed away at his home on Wednesday July 4, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer. Charles was born in Akron on November 22, 1946 to the late Harvey V. and Mary (Wills) Dawson. He is a retired truck driver, enjoyed spending time with his family, shooting pool, car races and horse shows. He served in the US Navy, and was a member of the Coshocton Moose Lodge and the Church of God. Charles is survived by his loving wife Vicki Jo (Clark) Dawson, who he married on December 2, 1967; children Tina M. (Dana) Smith of New Concord, Kathryn L. (Albert) Hendrieth of Coshocton and Charles K. (Bobbie Jo) Dawson Jr. of Groveport; two brothers Larry (Valerie) Dawson of Coshocton and Mike (Jill) Dawson of IN; sister Donna M. Dawson of AZ; grandchildren Katina A. Dawson, Machella D. (Cody Mills) Hendrieth, Tiona M. Hendrieth, Charles S. Dawson, Alexis N. Smith, Khyla R. Dawson and Justice L. Dawson; great grandchildren Zaelyn J. Carroll, Keavan C. Mills and Ryver L. Carroll; several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Harvey Dawson Jr.; two sisters Patricia Mencer and Marilyn West; nephew Wayne Mencer; great niece Jenna Dawson. Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Saturday July 7, 2012 from 2-4 PM where funeral services will begin at 4:00 PM with Pastor Jim Childers officiating. Coshocton County Veterans Council will also perform military honors for Charles at the funeral home. A cremation will take place after the funeral service. Memorial contributions may be directed to Health Services of Coshocton County, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
