Charles "Ward" W Karr

October 3, 1944 — March 29, 2017

Charles W. “Ward” Karr, 72, of Coshocton passed away on Wednesday March 29, 2017.  Ward was born in Coshocton on October 3, 1944 to the late Charles A. and Doris (McKee) Karr.

He graduated from Three Rivers High School and The Ohio State University with a Bachelors Degree in Agriculture.

Ward’s passion was farming, raising goats and steers, and making and selling hay.  He was very active in numerous organizations in our community including; Ohio National Guard, The OSU Extension Office, Keene Grange, Keene UMC Church, Walhonding Valley Farmers, Millcreek Township Fiscal Officer, Friendly Circle Farm Bureau Council, Lauren Dairy, Dairy Milk Board, retired Dairy Farmer and was currently serving his 43rd year on the Coshocton County Fair Board where he was Treasuer.

Ward is survived by his loving wife Kathy L. Karr whom he married on August 6, 1972; two children Jennifer (Rich) Moden and Jeff (Kelly) Karr both of Coshocton; seven grandchildren Trevor (Kacee) Moden, Dalton and Konnor Moden, Bradley, Brianna, Brandon and Braylon Karr; one great grandchild Adalyn Jade Moden; one brother Larry (Mimi) Stoneburner of CA; three sisters Marilyn Copenhaver and Carolyn Karr both of Coshocton and Ann (Max) Long of Wooster; numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his two brothers George Karr and James Karr; and a brother in law David Copenhaver.

Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Friday March 31, 2017 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.  Funeral services will be held at the Keene United Methodist Church, 27100 CR 1, Coshocton on Saturday at 11:00 AM with Pastor Dairel Kaiser officiating.  Interment will follow in Keene UMC Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Coshocton County 4-H Endowment Fund, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
