Charlie R Lower

April 4, 1946 — September 18, 2019

Charles R. “Charlie” Lower, 73, of Fresno, passed away at Truman Hospice House in New Philadelphia, Ohio on Wednesday September 18, 2019.

Charles was born in Van Wert, Ohio to the late Charles E. and Ethel (Royer) Lower on April 4, 1946.  He attended Fresno School and graduated from West Lafayette High School.  Charlie and his late wife Sue were the proud owners and operators of the Lower Dairy Farm in Fresno.  He was also a member of the Fresno United Methodist Church and treasured spending time with his family on their family farm.  Charlie also was a rural mail carrier for twenty years for the Fresno and West Lafayette post offices.

Charlie is survived by his loving children Amy (Jon) Demi of Claysville, PA, Mike (Merlene) Lower and Dave (Charity) both of Fresno; grandchildren Charlie, Clay, Katie, Jordy and Brady; sisters Lynn (Larry) Stein and Elaine Lower both of Fresno; brother Carl (Lois) Lower of Cambridge and several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his devoted wife Linda “Sue” Lower whom he married May 5, 1968.  Sue passed away on August 29, 2011 and one sister Jane Lower.

Graveside funeral services for Charlie will be held in Fairfield Cemetery, West Lafayette on Saturday September 21, 2019 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Dan Eggan officiating.  Memorial contributions may be directed to Community Hospice of Coshocton, 716 Commercial Ave SW, New Philadelphia, Ohio  44663.
