She attended Cleveland State, briefly, before moving on to The Ohio State University where she earned a BA in Spanish in 1972 and BS in Education in Spanish and French in 1974.  In 1996, she then received her master’s in education from Ashland University.

Charlotte was a very involved member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church; she was a reader and lector for the church and was also on the Sacred Heart School board and was PTO President. During her free time, she enjoyed paint night with her friends at the Frame Shop and while visiting her daughter, Stephanie, in San Diego.  She was also a die-hard Ohio State Buckeyes fan, she never missed a game!
