David F Bice

David F. Bice, 77, of Coshocton passed away at Walnut Grove Nursing Home in Coshocton on Friday October 14, 2016.

David was born in Dresden on February 10, 1939 to the late Frederick E. and Louella (Paynter) Bice.

He served in the US Navy from 1959-1963 and was a Vietnam Veteran.  On July 22, 1977 he married Judy (Watson) Bice.  David retired from Longaberger in 1993 and continued to work with his brother Ronny Bice and son in law Jim Bryan at B & B Construction.  David loved the outdoors, gardening, planting flowers along with hunting and fishing with his friends.  He also enjoyed caring for his dogs Sammy Jane and Star (aka Little One).  He was a lifelong fan The Ohio State Buckeyes.

Along with his wife Judy, David is survived by his son Jeremy (Amanda) Bice of KS; daughter Kimberly (Charles) Vizthum of MI; stepchildren Michael Mercer of Dresden, Nikki (Jim) Bryan of Dresden and Travis S. Mercer of Coshocton; grandchildren Summer, Keeley and Hunter Bice, Brittney (Zach) Witucky, Bethany Mercer, Cameron Mercer, Ashleigh, Dylan and Tanner Bryan, Nathan and Alicia Mercer; numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandson Braxton Bice; daughter in law Stephanie Mercer;  four sisters Roselle, Betty, Nancy, Carol Ann Bice; one brother Ronald Bice.

Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Monday October 17, 2016 from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.  Funeral services for David will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 1:00 PM with Pastor Harold Sprague officiating.  Entombment will follow in Coshocton County Memorial Gardens where Coshocton County Veterans Honor Guard will perform military honors.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Interim Hospice of Coshocton and/or the American Lung Association; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
