Debra "Debbie" Lynn Addy

August 9, 1955 — February 26, 2017

Debra “Debbie” L. Addy, 61, of Coshocton passed away at home and went to be with her Lord on Sunday February 26, 2017.  She was born in Coshocton on August 9, 1955.

Debbie was a 1973 graduate of River View High School. She had various jobs in the community over the years, including The Farmers Exchange, Dr. Tupper’s office; the Treasurer’s and title department office, and served as a voting location manager for the board of elections. She was involved in several churches throughout her life by playing the piano, organ, singing, bible studies, VBS, and many other activities. Debbie grew up at Keene United Methodist Church, played the piano for the early service at Park United Methodist Church, participated in the music ministry at Gray Ridge Church and was a substitute organist at the First Baptist Church in Coshocton. She also played the organ for many weddings. Debbie was a past president of Women of Witness, serving alongside many close friends including, Cindy Carroll. She was a devout Christian with a very deep and abiding faith in God which she shared in part through leading bible studies with cherished friends,  Mellanie McCormick, Mary Patterson, and Mary Ellen Daughtery. She also served the Lord through singing in trios. Debbie always thought of other’s, putting them first and lifting them up in prayer. She loved horses and was a member of Golden Spurs 4-H club.  She later met a fellow horse enthusiast, Harvey, who she married after many romantic trail rides.  She was also a member of Keene Hill and Valley Girls learning sewing, baking, and cookery with Lola Endsley.

Debbie is survived by her husband, Harvey Addy, whom she married July 1, 1978; son Justin Addy of Fresno; father Raymond Tumblin of Fresno; sister Denise Tumblin of Columbus; brother Alan Tumblin of Carlisle, PA; brother-in-law Rick Addy of Coshocton; and many much loved friends.

Debbie is preceded in death by her mother Janet (Martin) Tumblin; grandparents Verlie and Mildred (Williamson) Martin and Ray and LuLu (Bickel) Tumblin, and mother-in-law Thelma (Patterson) Addy and cousin Vicki Tumblin.

Debbie strove to be Christ-like and she was.  She reached out in love to others, and love returned to her in abundance. She grieved for others in their loss as we now grieve for her.  She will be greatly missed and always loved.  “Well done thou good and faithful servant…enter now into the joy of thy Lord.”

Friends may call at the Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 from 5:00PM – 8:00PM and one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.  Funeral services for Debbie will be held Thursday at 12:00PM at the Burt Avenue Wesleyan Church, 230 Burt Ave., Coshocton with Pastor Rod Uhlig officiating.  Burial will follow at Coshocton County Memory Gardens.
