Delores Mae Jones, 85, of West Lafayette passed away Sunday, December 17, 2017 at Coshocton Springs Health and Rehabilitation. She was born in Toronto, Ohio on May 9, 1932 to the late Roy H. and Dorotha (Rouse) Ball.
Delores was an amazing person and very talented. For many years she baked cakes for the banquets of the local sports teams. She loved cooking, gardening and canning and liked the challenge of making any type of craft. She loved to travel and have new experiences. She was a flawless water skier who could ski for miles, she was very active and it was very common for her to swim, bike and walk all in the same day. She was very calm, patient, and self-disciplined. She never swore and if she was really mad you might get a “By Dern It”. She liked to help out others and was a Girl Scout leader for 20 years and a 4-H leader for 25 years and was the recipient of the 2004 4-H Ambassador award. Over many years of her life she sold Avon and Tupperware. One of the many things that she enjoyed in life was attending fairs, festivals, and parades.
Delores is survived by her husband, Robert “Bob” Jones, who she married June 13, 1954; children William Lyman (Judy) Jones of Canal Fulton, Melissa Kaye Sines of West Lafayette, Ohio, Michelle Lynn (Mark) White II of Hardy, VA; 6 grandkids, Kaysea Brooks Jones and Kolby Alan Lyman Jones of Canal Fulton, Ohio, Ryan Aaron Jones of Lancaster, Ohio, Gary Alan Sines II of Columbus, Ohio, Sarah Michelle (Chris) Mills of Salem, Ohio and Chelsea Nicole White of Troutville, Virginia and 2 Great Grandkids, Zaylie Blayze Sines of New Concord, Ohio and Autumn Michelle Farley of Troutville, VA; sister Juanita June (Bill) Lowe of Bradenton, Florida.
