Donald E. “Don” Lane, 71, of Conesville passed away on Saturday May 24, 2014 at Coshocton County Memorial Hospital.
Don was born in Zanesville on June 12, 1942 to the late Denzil and Gladys Lane. He served in the US Army and retired from AK Steel in Coshocton. After retirement he worked at Coshocton County Head Start in maintenance. Don loved music, he sang for years at many local churches and nursing homes. He also had a love of restoring old cars and enjoyed his time in bowling leagues.
Don is survived by his devoted wife Mary B. (Jennings) Lane who he married June 30, 1962; three loving daughters Kelly (John) Kehn of Burton, Ohio, Beverly Lane of West Lafayette and Donna (Mike) Wright of Warsaw; ten grandchildren Brian Edgell, Stephanie (Tony) Conley, Amber Edgell, Rachel Kehn, Samantha (Rydell) Chrisman, Carly Kehn, Katlyn Wright, Kristopher Wright, Kacey Wright and Kevin Wright; ten great grandchildren; brothers David (Kris) Lane of Nashport, Dennis (Mary) Lane, Roy (Nancy) Lane and Leon (Sharon) Lane all of Zanesville, Gerald (Barb) Lane and Billy (Ruby) Lane both of Adamsville; sisters Lois (Rodney) Lafferty of Nashport, Penny (Terry) Wade and Mary Lou (Tom) Wisecarver of Zanesville, Sue (Glenn) Shaw of Chandlersville and Judy (Dave) Huffman of Adamsville; numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his four brothers John, Ron, Fred and Clarence Lane.
Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Wednesday May 28, 2014 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM and one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Funeral services for Don will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 11:00 AM with Pastor Dail Parrish officiating. Interment will follow in Tyndall Cemetery where Coshocton County Veterans Honor Guard will perform military honors.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Health Services of Coshocton County “Hospice”, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
