Doris J Schayes

Doris J. Schayes, 65 of Coshocton passed away on November 3, 2022 at Signature Healthcare. She was born on October 8, 1957 in Steubenville, Ohio to the late Leroy Felix and Betty Jane (Core) Strupe. On April 9, 1988, she married Michael Schayes, who passed way in 2010. She worked as a daycare provider, taking care of children in our community. She was a member of The Anchor Church in Coshocton and cooked many meals at the church. She enjoyed listening to the Gaither Vocal Band. She enjoyed crocheting and most of all spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, April (Andrew) Phillips; grandchildren, Breyden and Alawna and siblings, Donna Richards, Della Strupe, Betty (Greg) Carmichael, Edna Carmichael, Judy Mosser, Danny Strupe and Ruth (Brian) Waltz as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Debbie and Kenny Strupe and brother-in-law, Bill Carmichael.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 7, 2022 at 2pm at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Coshocton with Pastor Ben Nutter officiating.
