Dr. James V. Kleinknecht
June 20, 1931 — July 23, 2017
Dr. James V. Kleinknecht , age 86 of Conesville passed away Sunday, July 23, 2017 at Signature Healthcare of Coshocton. He was born June 20, 1931 in Coshocton to the late Virgil and Alice (Lockard) Kleinknecht.
Doc was a graduate of Roscoe High School and Lincoln Chiropractic College. He also served in the United States Air Force from 1950-1954.
Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his sister, Norma.
He is survived by his son, Vince (Betsy) Kleinknecht of Zanesville; special friend Lois Haight and her great grand-daughter Abby; and his beloved pets.
He was a practicing chiropractor in Coshocton, Dresden, and Zanesville for 57 years. His patients knew him as “Doc” and that he loved nothing more than a good joke. He was a member of the 96th Masonic Lodge, AMVETS, Shriners, Coshocton Eagles Lodge 761, and Coshocton Elks Lodge 376. He was one of the original board members of the Richard Downing Airport Authority, Past President of Coshocton City Council and a Coshocton County Health Commissioner.
He also had his pilot’s license and enjoying flying every chance he got.
In accordance with his wishes, no calling hours or funeral services will be observed. Private burial will take place at a later date.
Doc would be honored by memorial contributions in his name to Coshocton Interim Healthcare Hospice, 420 Downtowner Plaza, Coshocton, Ohio 43812 or donor’s choice of any animal shelter, humane society, or veterans’ service organization.
