Eric M Abood

Eric M. Abood, 43 of Toledo, formerly of Coshocton passed away on Tuesday September 12, 2017.  Eric was born in Zanesville on May 4, 1974.

He graduated in 1992 from Coshocton High School where he was a varsity letterman in soccer, swimming and tennis.  He was also a gifted vocalist and actor.  Eric starred in several school plays and was always a featured singer in Show Choir.  He also participated in numerous plays at the Triple Locks Theatre.

Eric received a scholarship from Marietta College for Theatre, Music and Choir; he also played soccer and tennis for Marietta and graduated majoring in Sports Medicine.   He then went to the University of Pittsburgh receiving his Master’s Degree and worked with several of the college and pro teams in Pittsburgh gaining on field experience.  Eric finished his schooling at St. Francis University in Loretto, PA for his Physicians Assistant Certification.

Eric also spent time in Tampa as a Surgeon’s Assistant while also working with several of the pro teams in Tampa.

He came back to Coshocton and worked at 5 Point Chiropractic, volunteered at the Hope Clinic and coached girls soccer.

Eric was working as a Physician’s Assistant for a Bariatric Surgeon in Marietta before moving to the Sandusky area as a Physician’s Assistant for Firelands Community Medical Center.

He loved all sports but he had a deep passion for playing and coaching soccer and enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Eric is survived by his parents Michael and Cynthia Abood of Coshocton; brother Evan (Tasha) Abood of Zanesville; two nephews Dylan and Evan; niece Nadia; aunts and uncles David ( Carolyn) Abood of Dublin, Cynthia Abood-Smith of Grandview Heights, Robert (Irena) Ross of Abu Dhabi and Patty Guilliams-Payne of Canton; great aunt Alice Gurche of FL; numerous cousins and other family members.

Eric is preceded in death by his grandparents Alfred and Alice Abood, James Ross and Margaret Crozier

Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Saturday September 16, 2017 from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM and one hour prior at the church on Sunday.  Funeral services for Eric will be held at the Trinity Episcopal Church 705 Main St., Coshocton on Sunday at 2:00 PM with The Rev. Kathryn Clausen officiating.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Derek A. Brown Elgart Memorial Soccer Fund, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
