Erma Iona (Elson) Downer

Erma Iona Downer, 101, of Coshocton passed away Friday, July 19, 2024 at the Coshocton Regional Medical Center. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on May 7, 1923 to the late Jacob and Carrie (Weiss) Elson.

Erma graduated from Coshocton High School in 1941 and was a filing clerk for the County Board of Authority and worked in clothing retail as a buyer and sales. She was a member of Park United Methodist Church and Grace United methodist Church.

Erma is survived by her cousin, Tom (Sharron) Elson of Zanesville and her best friend, Christy Mosier.

Along with her parents she is preceded by her husband, William H. Downer, who passed away in 1953; brothers James and Jacob Elson.

Graveside services will be held at Canal Lewisville Cemetery on Friday, July 26, 2024 at 11:00am with Rev. Deb Quillen officiating.
