Life Legacy


Esther M. Elson, 92, of Coshocton, passed away at Autumn Health Care on Monday April 18th, 2011. Esther was born and raised in Coshocton on October 16, 1918 to the late Guy and Minnie (Randles) Brillhart. On December 21, 1940 she married Tunis S. Elson whom passed away on February 18, 2011, they were married for 70 years. Esther was raised on a farm and was the oldest of the girls and she helped her mother with the house work, later she went out and cleaned houses around Coshocton. Also, she worked in the hospital in cleaning and housekeeping for a short time. She was a homemaker and raised her two sons, Larry and Tom. She also worked in J.J. Newberry Co. store where she spent 28 years until she retired. She was a member of the Eastern Star of Coshocton, The Presbyterian Church of Coshocton and a member of a bridge club for many years. Esther is survived by her two son's Larry (Mary) Elson of Delaware, Ohio and Tom (Sharron) Elson of Zanesville; one grandson Darin Elson; two great-grandchildren Dylan and Emmarae Elson all of Marion, Ohio; brother Harold (Joy Lee) Brillhart of FL; two sisters Carol (Jack) Guthrie of Millersburg and Joyce (John) Fry of Zanesville. Along with her parents, Esther was preceded in death by her husband Tunis; brother Klines Brillhart and one sister Iola (Harold) Thomas. Friends may call at Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Wednesday April 20, 2011 from 5-7 PM with Eastern Star services starting at 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be at the funeral home on Thursday at 11AM with Rev. Jonathan T. Carlisle officiating. Interment will follow in South Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Presbyterian Church of Coshocton Abiding Fund in Esther's name, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
