Frederick Edward “Ed, Sonny” Melrose, 83, of Warsaw passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at Ohio State Wexner Medical Center in Columbus due to injuries sustained from a car accident.
Ed was born in Coshocton County, Ohio on June 11, 1936 to the late Carl E. and Clara M. (Hoy) Melrose. He worked at Wells Greenhouse, retired from AK Steel Coshocton after 35 years and has enjoyed farming his entire life.
He was an active member of Gospel Hill Ministry in Warsaw.
Ed is survived by his wife Mary K. Melrose; children Marsha (Pete Farley) Melrose of Zanesville, Cathy Jo (Ray) Richcreek of Coshocton, Crystol (John) Weidger of Coshocton, Julia A. (Mike) Cognion of Gloucester, VA and Ginny (Keith Carnes) Mizer of Coshocton; twelve grandchildren; thirty-one great grandchildren; one great great grandchildsister in law Dolly Hoy and brother in law Archie Brink; numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Martin (Kathy) Melrose; sister Mary Brink and half brother Richard Hoy.
Friends may call at the Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main Street, Coshocton, Ohio 43812 on Tuesday June 2, 2020 from 4:00 – 6:00pm with funeral services beginning at 6:00pm with Pastor Ron Davis officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be directed towards Gospel Hill Ministry; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Memorial Contributions can also be directed towards the Home Loan Saving Bank for Fred and Mary Melrose.
Due to Covid-19, we are requesting visitors coming to the funeral home wear their own face masks and we will be limiting the number of attendees inside the building.
