Gary A Wallace

Gary A. Wallace, a devoted Father, Brother and Grandfather, 63 years old, passed away at his home in Fresno on Friday December 21, 2012.

Gary was born to the late Delmar Lee and Bertha (Lane) Wallace in Coshocton on February 17, 1949.

He was self employed for many years and served many area businesses with his janitorial services. He was also a self-taught upholsterer at Garys Custom Upholstery.

Gary served in the US Army during Vietnam, serving from July 8, 1969 through February 7, 1971. He trained for 11 weeks in Fort Campbell, KY and Fort Lewis Washington before leaving for Vietnam where he was a 52BA Power Plant Operator. He was honorably discharged as a Spec. 4 engineer.

Gary had many friends and was loved by all who knew him. He was a wonderful person and a selfless father, who loved his children unconditionally. Until his health impaired him, he enjoyed hunting and had a love of restoring Hot Rods.

Gary is survived by his children Sarah (Dustin) Wright of Fresno, James (Monica) Wallace of Dillonvale, OH, Katlynn Wallace of Bakersville, Jessie Chapman of Lincoln, AL, Jonathan Moore of Coshocton and Rainy Moore of Coshocton; grandsons Shawn and Ethan Williard, Dillon Wallace, Isaiah Valentine and Benten Wallace; granddaughters Preslee Wallace and Sabriana (Birdie) Valentine; sisters Katherine Hootman of West Lafayette and Della Ellwood of Zanesville; brother Jim Wallace of Dover; several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers Carl and Earl Wallace; sister Betty (Reid) Wallace.

Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Thursday December 27, 2012 from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM where funeral services will begin at 4:00 PM with Pastor Mark Granger officiating. Coshocton County Honor Guard will perform military honors at the funeral home at the beginning of the service. A cremation will take place after funeral services.
