Gene Paul Walters

December 21, 1943 — April 6, 2017

Gene Paul Walters, 73, of Coshocton passed away, Thursday, April 6, 2017 at his home.  He was born in Coshocton County on December 21, 1943 to the late Carlos and Faye (Cheney) Walters.

Gene graduated from West Lafayette High School before serving in the United States Army.  After the Army he worked at General Electric and AEP for 30 years before retiring.  Gene loved building and making things, painting, reading, helping people, and he loved his cats.  He was a very kind man and would help anyone that was in need.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth ( Honabarger) McIntire whom he married March 25, 2012; children John Paul (Angie) Walters, Michael Walters and Michelle Elya all of Coshocton; Jeff Criswell of Newcomerstown, Tammy (Sean) Gross of Coshocton, Jeffrey (Brenda) McIntire of Newcomerstown, and Raymond (Kathy) McIntire of Stone Creek; brother John (Sofie) Walters; sisters Gladys Wood, Cathy (Lynn) Graham, Libby (Henry) Perkins, and Christine (Wayne) Savage; 14 grandchildren; several great grandchildren.

Along with his parents Gene is preceded in death by his previous wife, Laura Walters; brothers Carlos T. Walters and Thomas Walters; daughter Lavena McIntire.

Friends may call at the Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 from 1:00PM – 3:00PM with a celebration of life beginning at 3:00PM with Pastor Bill Jones officiating and Coshocton County Veterans Honor Guard will be performing military honors.

Memorial contributions can be directed towards Interim Hospice, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
