George Karr, 79, of Coshocton passed away at Emeritus at North Hills in Zanesville on Sunday March 4, 2012. George was born in Coshocton on April 29, 1932 to the late Charles and Erma Karr. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict, retired from AK Steel in Coshocton after 34 years of service and enjoyed farming at his home. George was a member of the Farm Bureau and the Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his four children Jim (Debbie) Karr and Ray (Barb) Karr both of Coshocton, Kathy (Todd) Barnhart of Frazeysburg and Linda (Mark) Brodman of Upper Sandusky; grandchildren Ryan and Kasi, Jonathan, Chelsea, Eli and Miley; two brothers Ward (Kathy) Karr of Coshocton and Larry (Mimi) Stoneburner of CA; three sisters Marilyn Copenhaver and Carolyn Karr both of Coshocton and Ann (Max) Long of Wooster; several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Carol E. Karr, who he married August 31, 1951 and passed away on February 10, 1999; step mother Doris Karr; brother James Karr. Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Friday March 9, 2012 from 5-8 PM where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM with Lloyd Tenney officiating. Interment will follow in Coshocton County Memory Gardens with Coshocton County Veterans Council performing military honors.
