George P. Meiser, 74, of Plainfield passed away at Coshocton County Memorial Hospital on Tuesday November 12, 2013.

George was born in Coshocton County on November 17, 1938 to the late George and Thelma (Sissom) Meiser.  He graduated from Coshocton High School in 1956.  George began his working career at Edmonts in Coshocton from 1956-1961, he then began working for Shaw Barton and JII where he worked for the next 41 years.  George was also a farmer since he was 14 years old, having farmed until 2007.  He was a past president of Shaw Barton Union Local #1547 and a member of the Coshocton Moose Lodge.  George loved spending time outdoors, gardening and planting flowers, walking with his wife Katie at Kids America, bowling, eating out with friends and listening to country music.

He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years Catherine “Katie” (Johnson) Meiser; two grandchildren Jordan and Aaron Wallace of Ft. Branch, IN; several nieces and nephews; his two canine companions Teddy and Buddy.  Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sons Donnie Wallace who passed away January 3, 2013 and Steve Wallace who passed away June 20, 2013; a brother Chester Meiser and a sister Virginia Neal.

Funeral services will be held at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Friday November 15, 2013 from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM where funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM with Pastor Charles Warren officiating.  Interment will follow in Plainfield Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Coshocton County Animal Shelter, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
