Helen Gail Burt

Helen Gail Burt, 79, of Coshocton passed away Monday, December 6, 2021 at the Coshocton Regional Medical Center.  She was born in Akron, Ohio on March 15, 1942 to the late William “Earl” and Virginia “Alberta” (Pettit) Backus.

Gail graduated from Coshocton High School and the Coshocton Business College, which she later owned. She also owned and operated a home healthcare business while she lived in Florida. Gail served in the United States Air Force as an “Air Angel”. She attended the Coshocton Church of the Nazarene. She loved her puppies, Princess and Mannie, and spending time with her family.

Gail is survived by her children Richard Burt of Florida, John Burt of Coshocton, and Bill Dawson of Franklin, Indiana; stepchildren Wade Reed and Kim (Marty) Dobson; grandchildren Michael Burt, Laura Grace Petsky, and Aaliyah Parker; step grandchildren Clayton Dobson, Evan, Zac, Patrick, and Taylor Reed; sisters Geraldine Lahna and Darlene Backus.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husbands, Daniel Reed and Richard Burt; and brother Earl Backus.

A memorial service will be held at the Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main Street, Coshocton, Ohio 43812 on Friday, December 10, 2021 from 4:00pm – 6:00pm with a funeral service beginning at 6:00pm with Pastor Andrew Bird officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be directed towards the Coshocton Animal Shelter; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
