Howard R Scott

Howard R. Scott, 80, of Coshocton passed away at his home on Saturday August 6, 2016.  Howard was born in Gambier, Ohio on December 2, 1935 to the late Russell and Lucille (Porter) Scott.

He graduated from Coshocton High School, class of 1953 and served on a U.S. Navy Destroyer from 1955-1957.  Howard was an electrician for 40 years and the last 25 years with Hilscher-Clarke.

He was a devoted Coshocton Redskins fan and supporter, he also loved watching the Cleveland Cavaliers, Cleveland Indians and Ohio State Football and Basketball.  He was a member and very active at the Park United Methodist Church, and a member of Coshocton Eagles, Masonic Lodge, lifetime member of the Coshocton Elks #376, enjoyed playing golf and was an avid bowler.

Howard is survived by his wife Nancy (Larr) Scott whom he married on April 1, 1956; two sons Rodney (Karen) Scott of Dublin, Ohio and Jeffrey (Lucy) Scott of Mooresville, NC; four grandchildren Steven R. , Ava N., Ryan S. and David L. Scott; one sister Ellen Jamison of Coshocton; two brothers in law Bob Mahon of Coshocton and Jim (Karlen) Larr of Stow; several special nieces, nephews and cousins.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his son Steven Scott; two brothers Robert and William Scott; three sisters Marilyn Minor, Ruth Mahon and Lela Florence; brother in law Don Jamison.

Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Friday August 12, 2016 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.  An Elks service will begin at 4:45 PM on Friday.  Funeral services for Howard will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 11:00 AM with Pastor Jeremy Roseberry officiating.  Interment will follow in South Lawn Cemetery where Coshocton County Veterans Honor Guard will perform military honors.  Memorial contributions may be directed to Health Services of Coshocton County “Hospice” and/or The Samaritans Purse c/o Park United Methodist Church, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
