L. Jack Foster, 89, of Coshocton passed away at Autumn Extended Care Facility on Monday August 1, 2011. Jack was born in Coshocton to the late Clifford O. and Mary O. (Lowery) Foster on December 9, 1921. He graduated from Coshocton High School in 1939 and The Ohio State University. Jack served in the Army Air Corp during WWII as a bombardier. He retired from General Electric in 1983 after 38 years of service in Coshocton, holding many positions and retiring as manager of manufacturing. He was a member of the River Greens North and South Golf Courses, Coshocton Elks Lodge and a past member of the Coshocton Kiwanis Club. Jack enjoyed playing golf, fishing, wood working, playing bridge and his family. He is survived by his wife Barbara (Arnold) Foster having just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in December; children Diana Kay (Richard) Grogg of Lancaster, Barbara Lynn (Ed) Beer of Mansfield and Brad J. Foster of Dallas, TX; grandchildren Todd Grogg, Amber (Jim) DeWeese, Teresa Muench and Joanna Beer; great grandchildren Alaina Maxine DeWeese and Ashley Nicole Muench; a brother Allen (Marty) Foster of Sylvania, Ohio; sister in law Jeanette Foster of MI. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife Maxine Tresenrider and a brother Tom Foster. Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Wednesday August 3, 2011 from 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 11:00 AM with Pastor Jan Coffman officiating. A cremation will take place after funeral services and burial of the cremated remains in South Lawn Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Diabetes Association, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
