Jack L. Roberts, 81, of Coshocton passed away at his home on Tuesday December 25, 2012. Jack was born to the late William "Mut" and Louise (Hadley) Roberts in Coshocton on February 13, 1931.
He worked for Peabody Coal Company where he was a diesel mechanic for over 25 years and retired from the coal wash plant in 1993. On April 7, 1953 he married Ruby (Haines) Roberts, who preceded him in death in 2003.
He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict as a Motor Pool Sergeant from May 1953 to March 1954 receiving the Purple Heart, National Defense Ribbon and Korean Service Ribbon.
Jack was a 50 year member of the West Bedford Masonic Lodge #108, life member of Coshocton Eagles, American Legion, V.F.W. 2040 and AMVETS. He enjoyed Wood Working, riding his Harley Davidson and gun-making.
He is survived by his two daughters Vickie Rogers of Coshocton and Jacquelyn (Pete) Rathjen of Brigham City, UT; four grandchildren Erika Hoover, Chris (Jessica) Rogers, Mattie (Larry) Millard and Nicole Prado; three great grandchildren Kennedy, Kobe and Timmy; special friend Marilyn Bickel; special neighbors and caregivers Bill and Sherry McCoy and Gordon and Linda Maple. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters Ruth Laird and Bertha Thornsley; two brothers William "Moe" Roberts II and Thomas Roberts; nephew Mitch Thornsley.
Per Jacks wishes, a cremation will take place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
