James E. "Sonny" Ellis Jr., 79 of Wewahitchka, FL, formally of Ohio passed away at Bay City Medical Center in Panama City, FL on Monday February 27, 2012. Sonny was born in Barberton, Ohio on February 6, 1933 to the late James E. and Hannah Bell Emmaline (Sharier) Ellis Sr.. Jim was a minister for over 40 years and the secretary of the Voice of the Nazarene for 25 years. Jim was currently the Vice President of the Seneca Holiness Camp in Seneca, MO. He and his wife Donna traveled the country being lead cooks at many church activities. He is survived by his wife Donna M. Ellis, who he married May 5, 1951; children Cindy (Everett) Tennant of Guersney, OH, James E. Ellis III of FL, Connie J. (Marvin) Alwardt of Zanesville, Roxanne Scheuvront of VA, Wayne T. (Sharon) Ellis of FL, Josh (Joyce) Ellis of Plainfield, Martha (David) Cutchins of FL and John Ellis of Plainfield; 36 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; sisters Nancy Brink of NC, Gloria (Kenny) Webb of Coshocton, Sandra (Richard) Grewell of MO, Hildreth (Larry) Keener of Kimbolton and Brenda Connolly of Coshocton; brother Tim (Janice) Ellis of Canal Fulton; brothers in law Gregory Gonzalez of AL and Clesson Watson of Barberton; sister in law Barbara Ellis of Barberton; several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his grandson Justin Ellis; sisters Dot Parsons, Jean Hoffman, Edna Gonzalez and Audrey Watson; a brother Robert Ellis; brothers in law Joe Parsons, Eddie Hoffman, Thurman Brink and James Connolly. Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Saturday March 3, 2012 from 11-1 PM where funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM with Pastor Jeral Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Plainfield Cemetery.
