James E Lewis

James "Jim" E. Lewis, 69, of Coshocton passed away at his home on Saturday August 20, 2011 with his family by his side. Jim was born to the late Wesley and Helen (Fox) Lewis in Meigs County on January 16, 1942. He was an avid bowler at Sunrise in Zanesville and Coshocton Bowling Alleys, enjoyed spending time with his family, restoring cars, shooting pool and watching The Ohio State Buckeyes. He retired from AEP Conesville in 2005 after 20 years of service. Jim has just recently accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He is survived by his wife Saundra M. Lewis, who he married on June 20, 1998; children James "Tank" (Charlette) Lewis of Florence, KY, Joseph "Joe" (Teresa) Lewis of Frazeysburg, Jack Lewis of Dresden and Jeff Lewis of Nashport; step children Shannon (Jamie) Powell of West Lafayette and Tara (Eric) Meddings-Burton of Coshocton; brother Charles Richard (Carol) Lewis of Zanesville; sisters Janice (Jack) Hastings of WV and June Kocher of Zanesville; grandchildren Jamie, Jenn, Elizabeth, Amber, Justin, Brittany, Tiffany, Whittney, Skylar and McKenna; step grandchildren Kayla, Heather, Andrew, Krista, Katie, Alex and Evie; five great grandchildren. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife Mary (Tilton) Lewis who passed away in 1995; father and mother in-law Lorenza and Mildred Fowler; three brothers John, William "Bill" and Steve; four sisters Peggy, Betty, Ina Isabelle and Gladys. Friends may call at the Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Monday August 22, 2011 from 5-8 PM and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 PM with Pastor Jim Childers officiating. Interment will follow in Prairie Chapel Cemetery.
