Biography
James B. "Jim" Phillips, 71, of Coshocton passed away at Coshocton County Memorial Hospital on Saturday November 5, 2011. Jim was born to Clarence R. "Shorty" and Doris J. (Hootman) Phillips in Coshocton on March 10, 1940. He had worked for Republic Steel, St. Regis and Clow Water Systems. He was also a bartender at several different lodges in Coshocton including Moose, Eagles and retiring from the V.F.W 1330. He was a member of the Army Navy, V.F.W. Post 1330, Moose and Eagles. Jim was also an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing. Survived by his son Jim Phillips of Coshocton; sister Karen Fry of Coshocton; mother Doris June Phillips of Coshocton; aunt Sarah Garabrandt of West Lafayette and Aunt Mary Hootman of Coshocton. Jim is preceded in death by his father Clarence Phillips and a son Shawn Phillips. A graveside service will be held in South Lawn Cemetery on Tuesday November 8, 2011 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Mark Granger officiating.
