James F Shaw

James Frederick Shaw, 69, of West Lafayette, passed away at Coshocton County Memorial Hospital on Tuesday June 26, 2012. Jim was born in Newcomerstown on December 21, 1942 to the late John Richard and Elizabeth Losia (Widder) Shaw. He served in the US Navy for 26 years in Aviation Ordinance retiring in 1988 as a Chief Petty Officer, he also retired from Ridgewood Schools in Fresno with 7 years of service and attended the First Baptist Church in West Lafayette. He is survived by his loving wife Rita A. (Foster) Shaw who he married March 26, 1968; devoted sons Frederick Allen (Donna) Shaw of Coshocton, Chris B. Shaw of West Lafayette and Marcus J. Shaw of Coshocton; six grandchildren Freddy Jr., Rachel, Ashley, Marcus, Andrew and Rylee; three great grandchildren; brothers William Shaw, Richard (Carol) Shaw and Greg Shaw all of Coshocton; sisters Mary Carol Grace and Cynthia (John) Sikora both of Coshocton; sister in law Lucy Shaw of TX; lifelong military brother Wallace Smith of TN; special camping friends Bill, Ray and Bob; several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his two brothers Jene and John. Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Tuesday July 3, 2012 from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM. A memorial service for Jim will begin at 11:00 AM with Pastor David Kraft officiating. Interment will follow in Coshocton County Memory Gardens where Coshocton County Veterans Council will perform military honors. Memorial contributions may be directed to the First Baptist Church of West Lafayette, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
