Life Legacy
James "Jim" Walter Wantuck, 66 years of age, and a resident of Parma Heights, formerly of Amherst, passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at the Cleveland Clinic after succumbing to his battle with cancer. He was born August 18, 1945 in Buffalo, New York. Jim was raised and lived in New York until the age of twelve when he moved to Amherst and graduated from Marion L. Steele in the class of 1963. He had made his home in Parma Heights for the last forty-four years. Jim was a graduate of Ashland College where he received his bachelors in accounting. He was employed at LISN Corporation for twenty years before retiring in 2000 as the CFO. In his retirement, he enjoyed being a proud member of the Triplitt Pharmacy and Gifts crew, Coshocton. He was also a member of the Coshocton Elks Lodge. Survivors include his loving wife of forty-four years Cheryl Wantuck (nee: Triplitt); his daughters and their husbands Rebecca and Christopher Wunker of North Royalton, Deborah and Mathew Lepak of Nokomis, Florida; grandchildren Megan, Caylin and Breann; sisters and their husbands Jeanette and Dennis Clotz, and Diane and David Taylor, all of Amherst; brother Ron Wantuck of Ann Arbor, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents Woodrow and Frances Wantuck (nee: Gavel). Friends may call at the Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St. Coshocton on Monday December 26, 2011 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday December 27, 2011 at the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst from 5:00 - 8:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
