James "Jay" Mcginnis

James “Jay” McGinnis Sr. 71, of Newcomerstown, Ohio passed away at Ohio State University Medical Center on Wednesday, May 25, 2022.

James was born on July 14, 1950 to the late Joseph Harry McGinnis and Inez Marie (Egler) Stout. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and mowing everyone’s yard. Jay was also a member of the Coshocton County sportsman’s club, Moose, Eagles and American Legion.

Jay is survived by his three children: Jay (Vikki) McGinnis Of Coshocton, Ohio, Maggie (Bill) Wisecarver of Dresden, Ohio and Ashlee “Nikki” Miller Of Canton, Ohio; One sister Katherine Irene Linn (Ray Armstrong) Of Conesville, Ohio; One brother Mike (Lynn) McGinnis of Fresno, Ohio; 6 grandchildren: Chelcee and Makenna Spring, Kamryn McGinnis, Olivia and Klayton Bennett and Locklin Wisecarver.

Along with his parents Jay is preceded in death by one brother George McGinnis.

A cremation will take place with the Miller-Kaser Cremation Services. Calling hours will be at The Miller Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 from 3pm to 5pm.
