James R. “Jim” Ames, 86, of Coshocton passed away at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville on Thursday October 4, 2018.
Jim was born in Fresno, Ohio on June 19, 1932. He graduated from Plainfield High School in 1950 and retired from Superior Dairy.
He was a member of the Prairie Chapel Church and Coshocton Eagles Lodge where he enjoyed playing cards with his friends. Jim also loved to watch Notre Dame football, Cleveland Indians, listening to Blue Grass music and spending time with his family.
Jim is survived by his son Joe (Shelley) Ames of Coshocton; grandchildren Amanda (Ryan) Matchack of Columbus, Sara (Zach) Moody of Coshocton, Chad Ames of Coshocton and Luke (Cheyenne) Ames of Zanesville; step grandchildren Julie (Jon) Czapla and Philip (Tara) Arthur both of Columbus; seven great grandchildren; sister in law Maureen (Jack) Allen of Conesville.
He is preceded in death by his wife Clarice Ames; two sons Mike and Troy Ames; parents Joe and Lucy (Latham) Duling.
Graveside funeral services will be held in Prairie Chapel Cemetery on Monday October 8, 2018 at 3:00 PM with Pastor Dail Parrish officiating.
