J.D. Darr

Jerry L. “J.D.” Darr, 65, of Coshocton, passed away at Grant Medical Center in Columbus on Thursday January 30, 2014.

J.D. was born in Keene, Ohio on October 12, 1948 to the late William and Althea (Lawrence) Darr.

He is graduate of River View High School and retired from Shaffer Tent and Awning after working there for 39 years. He was a member of the American Legion, AMVETS, and V.F.W.

J.D. is survived by his longtime companion Pamela Schleich of Coshocton; son Brent Darr of Lancaster; four brothers Bill (Eilleen) Darr of Newcomerstown, Jim Darr of Newark, Hugh “Skip” (Jean) Lawrence of Keene, Victor (Pinky) Darr of Vermilon; two sisters Wilma (Larry) Marlatt of Newcomerstown and Janice Brooks of Florida; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his two brothers Paul and Gerald Darr; and sister Marilyn Scott.

Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main Street, Coshocton on Monday February 3, 2014 from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM where funeral services will begin at 7:00 PM with Pastor Ralph Johnson officiating. Coshocton County Honor Guard will also be performing military honors. A cremation will take place after funeral services.
