Jean Severance

Jean Catherine “Kitty” Severance, age 80 of Coshocton, passed away on April 24, 2024 at the Morrison Hospice House. She was born on May 27, 1943 in Huntington, WV to the late Charles and Frances (Gress) Brown. She attended Wahama High School in Mason, WV. She married her first husband, Larry Turley, and they had four children together. Her second husband, Don Severance, preceded her in death. Before retirement, she worked at Shaw Barton/ JII. She was a fan of Star Trek, NASA, science fiction and Bigfoot. Her hobby as she called it was going to lunch with her friends. She kept up on all episodes of Jeopardy, enjoyed reading and doing puzzles. She was a sports fan, cheering on “The Tribe”, Cleveland Browns and The Ohio State Buckeyes.

Surviving are her children: Teresa (Lenny) Fowler, of Coshocton, Larry Dean (Karen) Turley of Newnan, GA, Ginny (Roger) Machamer of Coshocton and John (Beth) Turley of Coshocton; brother: Max (Dottie) Brown of Waco, TX; grandchildren: Amanda (Jason) Hurley, Clint Fowler, Joey Cramblett, Luke Turley, Savanna Turley, Betsi (Brad) Shrimplin, Jennifer (Jimmy) Miller, Nathan, Kaila and Steven Copeland; great-grandchildren: Caleb, Chloe, Noah, Rayne, Broox, Micah, Gabby, Taylor, Devawn, Brady, Jaylee, Kaden, Gracelynn, Leah, Katie, Mason, Aaron, Sophia, Rosie, Blake, Bentley and Christiano; five great great-grandchildren; nephew: Ted (Deanna) Brown and special granddaughter: MeeOk Won.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her step-father Doc Ohlinger, spouses Larry Turley and Don Severance, and grandchildren Michael Cramblett and Lisa Machamer.

Calling hours will be at The Miller Funeral Home on Friday, April 26, 2024 from 10am to 11am. A funeral service will begin at the funeral home at 11am with Pastor Kyle Dunfee officiating.

A cremation will take place with the Miller-Kaser Cremation Services.
