Jesse Lee Maple Jr., 73, of West Lafayette passed away Sunday, May 30, 2021 at his home. He was born in Coshocton, Ohio on September 12, 1947 to the late Jesse L. Maple Sr. and Carrie (Freetage) Maple.
Jesse served in the United States Army and worked for Penn Michigan and the Coshocton County Highway Department for more than 20 years before retiring. He attended Birds Run Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, going for walks, mushroom hunting, but most of all spending time with his family.
Jesse is survived by his wife of 52 years, Cheryl (Snyder) Maple; daughters Joann (Tracy) Allen of West Lafayette, Shelly (David) Kuchinka of Tennessee, and Rhea (Matt) Headley of Crooksville, Ohio; grandchildren Brenna (Marvin) Sparger, Breann (Zac) Miller, Zac (Theresa) Allen, Will Allen, Michayla (James) Williamson, Lezlee Thursby, Elizabeth Thursby, Tiffani (Kaleb) Vandygriff, Nick Headley, McKenna Headley, Jadyn Cline, and Kyle Cognion; 17 great grandchildren; siblings Samuel, William (Melody), and Bernard (Faye) Maple; brother-in-law Avery Dotson; and several very special nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his siblings Nathan Maple, Myrtle Hardy, Harold Maple, and Maxine Dotson.
Graveside services will be held at Fairfield Cemetery, West Lafayette on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at 1:00pm with Pastor Pat Peebles officiating. The Coshocton County Veterans Council will be performing military honors at the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be directed towards St. Jude’s Children Hospital or Shriners Hospital for Children.
