Jillene E. Shaw Hoberg, affectionately known as "Jill," was born on March 22, 1935, in Coshocton. She passed away on March 27, 2025, after a brief illness.
Jill's career was marked by dedicated service as she worked in all Coshocton County Courthouses. She began as a clerk and later transitioned to a deputy clerk, ultimately retiring from that position. In the years following her retirement, Jill continued to serve her community by working part-time at Probate Court, contributing to the fabric of local governance with grace and commitment.
A proud graduate of Roscoe High School and a long-time member of Roscoe United Methodist Church, she nurtured her spiritual life and formed deep connections with her church community. Additionally, Jill enjoyed the camaraderie of fellow members at the Coshocton Eagles and Elks Lodge, where she shared many joyful moments with friends.
Jill was not only a dedicated professional but also a fun-loving individual who cherished the time spent with her family and friends. She was thoughtful and expressive, often sending cards to loved ones to celebrate their achievements or simply to remind them that they were in her thoughts. Her caring nature extended to the small yet meaningful gestures she made, such as laminating articles from newspapers to commemorate the accomplishments of her family and friends.
Among her many hobbies, playing hausey, reading and taking trips to casinos brought her great enjoyment. Jill eagerly anticipated weekly lunch meetings with friends, where laughter and storytelling were staples of her social calendar.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Sue E. (John) Williams of Warsaw and Sara Beth Murray of West Lafayette, grandchildren Cody Williams and Max (Tiffani) Williams, and her dear brother, Paul (Donna) Miller.
Jill is preceded in death by her beloved husbands, Julius "Jiggs" Shaw and Carl Hoberg, as well as her parents, Sanford and Elizabeth (Fortune) Miller.
Jillene E. Shaw Hoberg will be fondly remembered for her warmth, generosity, and the indelible mark she left on the lives she touched.
A private family graveside service will be held in South Lawn Cemetery and a celebration of Jill’s life will be held at a later date.
