John Armstrong, 84, of Coshocton, passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2022. He was born on November 11, 1938 in Cambridge to the late Mabel (Armstrong) Sharples and Louis McCarthy. On November 5, 1960, he married Mary Ann (Synan) Armstrong, who survives. He is a United States Army Veteran where he was an Army Medic in France. He worked at Shaw Barton/ JII for 40 plus years until his retirement. He was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Church, Knights of Columbus, Jaycees and really enjoyed being a member of React. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and dogs. He never met a dog that didn’t like him.
Along with his wife, he is survived by his children, Andrew (Jodie) Armstrong, Tricia Armstrong, Daniel (Maureen) Armstrong, Clare Armstrong, Joseph (Faith) Armstrong and Melinda (Trevor) Kielmeyer; grandchildren, Andrea, Vincent, Jarred, Amanda, Liam, Michael, Jack and Tyler; siblings, Linda Naso and Dale Stanley (Kris) Sharples.
Preceding him in death is his mother and step father, Dale Sharples.
Calling hours will be at The Miller Funeral Home on Sunday, December 18, 2022 from 3pm to 5pm. A funeral mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church on Monday, December 19, 2022 at 10:30am with Father Tom Gardner officiating. Burial will follow at Coshocton County Memory Gardens with the Veterans Honor Council performing Military Honors.
