John A Howell

July 6, 1938 — April 3, 2018

John A. Howell, 79, Coshocton passed away at Aultman Hospital on Tuesday April 3, 2018.

John was born to the late John and Blanche (Jones) Howell on July 6, 1938 in Orange, Ohio.

He graduated from West Lafayette High School, worked at St. Regis Paper Mill for 22 years and then retired from AK Steel in Coshocton.  He loved being a member and attending the Victory Assembly of God Church in Newcomerstown, playing softball, traveling, watching all kinds of sports, spending time outside at his home and enjoying his family.

John is survived by his wife Mary Howell; daughter Kathy (Shane) Johnson of Massillon; grandchildren Nathan, Seth Johnson, Olivia (Justin) Noland and Micah Johnson; one great grandson Piercen Noland; one brother James (Pat) Howell of Pataskala; numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Bill Howell; two sisters Sarah Jane Watson and Louise Borden.

A memorial service will be held at the Victory Assembly of God, 311 S. College St., Newcomerstown on Saturday April 7, 2018 at 4:30 PM with Pastor Brent Heishman officiating. John’s family will greet friends from 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM at the church.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Victory Assembly of God Church, envelopes will be available at the church.
