John W. Mcdonald Sr.

October 2, 1930 — January 18, 2014

John W. McDonald Sr., 83, of Coshocton, passed away at Windsorwood Place in Coshocton on Saturday January 18, 2014.

John was born in Coshocton County on October 2, 1930 to the late Lewis D. and Nancy Ellen (Worthington) McDonald.

He graduated from Conesville High School, had worked at General Electric in Coshocton for forty years and retired as a shift supervisor. He was an active member of Conesville United Methodist Church and enjoyed his time in the Men’s Christian Fellowship Group.  He also served on the board for Three Rivers United Methodist Church East Ohio Conference.

John is survived by his children Cindy (Gene) Mathias and Jan (Jim) Karas and John McDonald Jr., all of Coshocton; a brother Robert “Bob” (Pat) McDonald of Grand Rapids, MI; grandchildren Darcy (Greg) Bailey, Andy (Lindsay) Karas, Krissy (Adam) Durant and Matt (Katrina) McDonald; six great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.  Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters Rachel Lindimore, Betty Guilliams and infant sister Beverly McDonald.

Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home on Wednesday January 22, 2014 from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM where funeral services for John will begin at 3:00 PM with Pastor Phil Hoverstock officiating.  A cremation will take place after funeral services and burial of his cremated remains will take place in South Lawn Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Health Services of Coshocton County “Hospice” and/or Conesville United Methodist Church, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
