John M. Mizer Jr., 70, of West Lafayette passed away Monday, October 12, 2020 at Summa Akron City Hospital. He was born in Dover, Ohio on January 1, 1950 to the late John “Mike” Mizer Sr. and Betty (Neading) Mizer.
John was a graduate from Ridgewood High School and worked a Mechanic at Bakersville Garage and was a Township Trustee for Bucks Township. He was a member of the Salem Evans Church in Bakersville. He loved riding and working on tractors and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret “Maggie” (Toland) Mizer, who he married December 27, 1969; daughters Marty (Richard) Pfeister II, Michelle (Dave) Foster, and Melissa (Shawn) Asbury; six grandchildren Richy (Brittany) Pfeister III, Chelsea (Andy) Boyd, Michael (Jill) Foster, Dylan Foster, Breann (Jesse) Olinger, and Hope Asbury; two great grandchildren, Richy IV and Emilee; brother Daniel E. (Johanna) Mizer; sisters Linda (Dave) Canfield and Norma (John) Brink; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents John is preceded in death by his brother Paul Mizer.
Per John’s wishes a cremation will take place and burial of his cremated remain will take place at a later date in Salem Evans Cemetery.
