John Roof

John W. Roof II, 69, of Fresno passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at the Ohio State Hospital in Columbus.  He was born in Coshocton, OH on May 19, 1954 to the late John W. Roof Sr. and Wanda (Kohl) Roof.

John graduated from Coshocton High School and worked for 7up Company as a pop machine repairman for 26 years.  He was a member of the Coshocton Moose and enjoyed bowling, mowing grass, watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Michigan Wolverines.

John is survived by his wife, Kim (Wright) Roof, who he married December 29, 2006; children Heidi (J.C.) Freetage, Heather (Mike) Stringer, Holly (Tim Croft) Roof, and Andrew Wright; grandchildren Johnathon Householder, Roxanne Thursby, Megan Cox, Cody Stringer, Michaela Stringer, Austin Stringer, Anthony Wright, Jaimie Wright, and Logan Knepper; several great grandchildren; sisters Charmaine Roof, Carmen (Bobby) Stokes, and Dee Dee (Ron) Shyrock; sisters-in-law Charlene (Raymond) Hixon and Michelle (Greg Belt) Shaffer;  several nieces and nephews; his dogs Dozer, Willow, Nina, and Puddy; and cat Smoke.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his daughter “Baby Girl Roof”; siblings Cindy Roof and Sammy Rivera; and best friend Larry Medlock.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Coshocton Eagles on Thursday, February 8, 2024 from 1:00pm – 4:00pm.
