Biography
Joseph F. Swails Jr., 74, of West Lafayette, passed away on Wednesday July 24, 2013.
Joseph was born to the late Joseph and Bessie (Douglass) Swails in Coshocton on July 14, 1939.
He served in the US Army and was the owner/operator of Swails Import Auto Care in West Lafayette where he started the business in 1966.
He is survived by his wife Sue Swails whom he married February 22, 1978; sons Bob (Karen) Swails of West Lafayette, Bill Swails of Erie, CO and Brent (Charlie) Swails of Hickman, NE; daughters Brenda (John) Hamilton of Coshocton and Beth (Randy) Patrick of Newcomerstown; eight grandchildren Mitchell, Robin, Justin, Jessica, Katie, Zach, David and Bryan; sisters Florence Foglesong, Edith (Wayne) Adams and Sarah Fleming all of Coshocton, Dorothy Johnson of FL and Thelma Keener of Painesville, OH; special nieces Chelsea and Christina Young; several other nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his infant son Barry Russell Swails; two brothers Russell and John Swails; brothers in law Ray Siebert, Bill Foglesong, Bernie Johnson, Walter Keener and Glenn Fleming.
A private family funeral service will be held at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St, Coshocton
