Joseph A. Yacapraro Sr. age 78, of West Lafayette passed away at Autumn Extended Care on Saturday March 24, 2012. He was born August 10, 1933 in Wooster, Ohio a son of the late Frank Joseph and Teresa Marie Tomassetti Yacapraro.
Joseph graduated from Apple Creek High School in Wayne County. He served and protected his nation in the US Army, where he was an Army Instructor in Radio Communications. He eventually ended his career after 20 plus years of service as an Army Recruiter. He was electrician by trade and a farmer.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a son David Brian Yacapraro; Brother Frank Joseph Yacapraro Jr.; Sister Rose Gilbert and Son-In-Law Orville Starkey.
He is survived by his Wife Bessie Mildred Sigler Yacapraro of the home, whom he married September 20th, 1952; Son Joseph (Penny) Yacapraro, Jr. of Coshocton; 3 Daughters Debra Ann Starkey of West Lafayette, Dianna Lynn (Patrick) Moran of West Lafayette and Margaret "Peggy" Rose (Ramiro) DelToro of Coshocton; 15 Grandchildren; 25 Great-Grandchildren; 4 Sisters Elizabeth Yoder, Carol Campbell, Theresa Pridgen all of Tucson, AZ and Geraldine Crabtree of Rittman, OH; Daughter-In-Law Mary Yacapraro of Newport, NC. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Friends will be received Thursday March 29, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main Street, Coshocton, OH 43812. A Funeral Service will be observed Friday March 30, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Miller Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Cal Searles Officiating. Burial will follow in the Franklin Cemetery, with Coshocton County Veterans Council performing military honors. The Miller Funeral Home, Coshocton is serving the family.
