Joyce “Eileen” Evans, passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2023. She was born on September 13, 1931 in Conesville to the late Edward and Grace (Worthington) Shearn. On August 5, 1952, she married William “Gene” Evans, who passed in 2014. She worked at the Coshocton County Farm Service Agency until her retirement. She was a lifelong member of the Conesville Wesleyan Church and a member of the Ladies FCV Auxiliary. She enjoyed taking trips and vacationing with her family. Having no children of her own, Eileen was very involved in her nieces and nephews’ lives. She watched many of them and supported them in all their activities.
Eileen is survived by her sisters, Donna Bates of West Lafayette and Marilyn (Dean) Shroyer of Conesville; Sisters-in-law, Nadine Evans of Indiana and Agatha (Ray) Murphy of California; Nieces and nephews, Pam (Keith) Matz, Stan (Marilyn) Bates, Ronald (Candy) Bates, Todd (Terry) Shroyer, Tammy (Jon) Hardesty, Tom (Jodi) Shroyer, Wesley (Elizabeth) Cockman, Leslie (Jay) Merrill, April (Ron) Reyes, Steve (Kaylynn) Evans, Jeff (Rita) Evans, Mike (Debbie) Evans, Scott (Deena) Evans; 25 plus great nieces and nephews, 20 great-great nieces and nephews and 1 great-great-great niece as well as her loving companion, her dog, Bella.
Along with her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her brothers-in-law, Ross Bates and Malcolm Evans and sister-in-law, Joan (Elijah) Cockman.
Calling hours will be at the Miller Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 from 10am to 11am. The funeral service will begin at the funeral home at 11am with Pastor Donnis Meek officiating. Burial will follow at Coshocton County Memory Gardens.
