Katherine Sue Wimer, known to friends and family as Kathy, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2023, in Coshocton, Ohio. Born on August 22, 1953, in Mount Clare, West Virginia, Kathy was a gentle, thoughtful woman who brightened the lives of those around her.
Kathy was the beloved daughter of the late William C. and Dencie "Tippy" L. (Greaver) Wimer. She was a devoted family member and is survived by her nieces Amy (Josh) Anderson, Pam Wimer, and Sharon Wimer; nephew Michael Klingler (Julie); sister-in-law Tressie Wimer; her cherished cat Willow; and several great nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Karen K. Klingler, nephew Paul R. Wimer, brother Eugene M. Wimer as well as her cousin Donna Pape.
Throughout her life, Kathy was a hardworking and dedicated individual. She spent many years as a cashier at Meijer Grocery Store, where she was known for her friendly demeanor and willingness to help customers. She also spent several years working hotel/hospitality in several places with her job at Yellowstone National Park being a favorite. In addition to her professional career, Kathy enjoyed animals, nature, art, photography and poetry.
In her free time, Kathy enjoyed spending time with her family, particularly her nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She was a loving and caring presence in their lives, always offering support and encouragement. Kathy also had a special bond with her cat Willow, who was a constant source of comfort and companionship for her.
Kathy will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her gentle spirit, thoughtfulness, and humor touched the lives of many, and her memory will live on in the hearts of her loved ones.
Per Kathy’s wishes, a cremation will take place.
No public services will be observed.
