Lewis Foster, 89 of Conesville, passed away on Friday, March 28, 2025 at his home. He was born on June 27, 1935 in Canal Lewisville to the late James and Blanche (Lapp) Foster. Lewis worked at Peabody Coal for over 28 years and went to work at Conesville Coal Preparation for another 10 years. Meanwhile, Lewis spent long hours on his family farm, harvesting crops and raising cattle and pigs. He enjoyed his Haflinger horses and riding with their Amish friends. Alongside him, was his loving wife, Anita "Ruth" (Larr) Foster, spending over 65 years together.
Along with his wife, he is survived by his son, Kevin (Brenda) Foster; grandchildren, Wade Albert Foster and Kaeyla (Andy) Foster; great grandson, Luke Gabbard; siblings, Janet Fender, Barb McNeal, Mary Crouso and Harold (Brenda) Foster; sister-in-law, Alice Foster; brother-in-law, Rodney (Elaine) Larr and Randall Larr as well as several nieces and nephews along with many Amish friends that they made throughout the years.
He is preceded in death by his siblings, Irene (Patrick) McNichols, Francis (Lester) Erman, James Foster and baby sister, Helen Lucile Foster; brother-in-law, Dennis Fender, Jack McNeal, James Crouso, Ronald (JoAnn) Larr.
Per his wishes, a cremation will take place with the Miller Funeral Home and Crematory then he will return home to be back to the family farm.
