Linda Kay Smith, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2023, in Zanesville, Ohio. Born on August 10, 1953, in Coshocton, Ohio, Linda was known for her passionate, friendly, and loving nature, which touched the lives of everyone who knew her.

Linda is survived by her loving husband, Gary D. Smith; her devoted children, Shelly (Matthew) McCready and Scott (Rachel) Smith; her cherished granddaughters, Cora and Lily Smith; her caring siblings, John (Terry) Thompson and Lora (Tom) Miller; and her many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Marcille Thompson.

Linda's work history began at Edmonts, where she met her husband, Gary. She then dedicated many years of her life as a nurse’s aide, providing compassionate care and friendship to those in need. Linda also enjoyed working in the bakery at Beuhlers and ultimately retired from Windsorwood Place. Throughout her various roles, Linda's warm and caring nature shone through, making her a beloved figure in her community.

A true caretaker at heart, Linda's love extended to people, animals, and plants alike. She was an avid gardener with a green thumb like no other, and her beautiful gardens were the envy of all who saw them. Linda also had a special place in her heart for her pets, treating them with the same love and devotion that she showed her family and friends.

In addition to her love of gardening and animals, Linda was a talented cook, and her delicious meals brought family and friends together time and time again. Her recipes will continue to be cherished and passed down through generations, keeping her memory alive in the hearts and homes of her loved ones.

Linda's legacy of love, kindness, and compassion will live on through her family and the countless lives she touched. Her memory will be cherished, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Per Linda’s wishes a cremation will take place with The Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, graveside committal services will be held at a later date in Coshocton County Memorial Gardens.
