Lois Genevieve “Jenny” (Akers) Via

Lois Genevieve “Jenny” (Akers) Via died peacefully on July 24, 2021 in Oro Valley, Arizona at the age of 82.

Jenny was born in Pulaski, Virginia on March 20, 1939 to the late Claude and Beulah Akers.  She graduated from Pulaski high school in 1956. She married Gene Via (Shift Supervisor with Peabody Coal Company) on August 24, 1957.

After moving to Coshocton, Ohio. Jenny began work for Stone Container Corporation.  She worked there for over 40 years. She also was involved with the Eastern Stars. Upon her retirement, they relocated to Oro Valley,Arizona.

Jenny is survived by her husband Herman ( Gene) Via; two daughters Teresa (David )McGuire of Coshocton, OH and Karen Via of Oro Valley, AZ; grandson Daniel ( Mandy ) McGuire; great grandsons Cale and Finnegan McGuire of Granville, OH; granddaughter Danielle Souder of Fort Collins, CO; sister Frieda Albano of Pulaski, VA.

She is preceded in death by her 5 brothers and one sister Safford (Gertrude) Akers, Clayton (Dorothy) Akers, Benton Akers, Eldon Akers, Danny (Betty) Akers and Lee Harrison.

A graveside service is scheduled for Saturday September 4, 2021, at 1:00 pm at the Coshocton Memorial Gardens with Pastor Wesley George officiating the ceremony.  All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jenny’s life.
