Life Legacy
Madge Elise (Keith) Saunders, 98, of Coshocton, died April 8, 2012, at Coshocton Health and Rehabilitation Center after a short illness. She was the daughter of the late Johnnie Keith and Lottie (Clegg) Keith, born August 25, 1913 in Scottsburg, Indiana. She married the love of her life, Etson P. "Blackie" Saunders on February 10, 1935. They owned Enterprise Products in Coshocton for several years. Etson died on August 23, 1973, and Madge never remarried. After the death of her husband, Madge worked for Foster-Endsley Real Estate and Insurance, retiring in 1978. She was a member of the Pink Ladies Auxiliary at Coshocton Memorial Hospital for many years, and served as president from 1996 through 1998. She was also a member of the Write-On Writers group, enjoying success as a poet and writer. Several of her articles were published in Good Old Days magazine, and her work appeared in the Coshocton Free Enterpriser, The Advertiser, and The Tribune. Madge is survived by a daughter Paula Ann (Fred) Foreman of Waverly; sons Steven E. Saunders of AZ and John A. Saunders Dover; daughter Pamela J. Moore and her companion Franklin J. Rohr of Warsaw; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren (one of which, Kayla Elise, was named in her honor); and one great-great-grandchild. Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a sister Georgia Therma Talley, and a brother Donald Mason Keith. Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, Coshocton on Friday April 13, 2012 from 11-12 PM where funeral services will begin at 12:00 PM with Rev. Philip Hunt officiating. Interment will follow in South Lawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Pink Ladies Auxilary Coshocton Hospital, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
